Frequently Asked Questions
What happens during a session?
Before anything is recorded, we sit down together to understand what you want to leave behind and who you want to leave it for. That conversation shapes everything. By the time the camera turns on, you are not performing. You are simply talking to the people you love.
Where do sessions take place?
We come to you. Your home, a meaningful outdoor location, a studio convenient to you, or anywhere that feels right for your story. The setting matters more than most people realize, and we will work with you to find the place where you feel most comfortable and most yourself.
How long does a session last?
Most sessions run between two and three hours, though we never watch the clock. Some stories need more time, and we build that flexibility in from the start. What matters is that nothing feels rushed and nothing important gets left unsaid.
What if the person gets emotional?
We expect it. Tears are not a problem to be managed. They are often the moment the most important thing finally gets said. We move at your pace, and there is no pressure to keep going until you are ready.
Who receives the final recording?
You do. The recording belongs entirely to your family. We deliver it on a Memories Capsule micro disk, a physical keepsake designed to be stored and passed down, along with a private digital copy for safekeeping. We do not retain copies of your recording once delivery is complete. What you share stays with you.
How is the recording stored and protected?
Your story is private. We do not share, publish, or use any recordings without your explicit written permission. Everything captured stays within your family unless you choose otherwise.
Can I gift this to someone?
Yes, and it is one of the most meaningful gifts you can give. There are clients who come to us on behalf of a parent, grandparent, or someone they love who would never book this for themselves. We handle the entire process with care, and the recipient almost always becomes the most grateful person in the room.
Do I need to prepare anything before the session?
Nothing formal is required. We do the preparation work together in advance, so by the time the session arrives you already know what to expect. Some people find it helpful to think about a few memories or moments they want to make sure are captured. Others prefer to come with nothing prepared and let the conversation take them where it goes. Both approaches work. We meet you wherever you are.
How long before we receive the final recording?
Every project has its own scope, and delivery timelines are agreed upon before the session begins. We will always give you a clear timeline upfront so there are no surprises.
Can a session be conducted remotely for someone who lives in another city or country?
Yes. Distance is not a barrier. For families where the subject lives in another city or abroad, we offer remote sessions conducted over video call with the same care and intention as an in-person experience. A grandparent in Odessa, a parent in Tel Aviv, a relative who never made it to this side of the world. Their story is just as worth capturing.
What if I am not satisfied with the result?
We do everything in our power to make sure that never happens. That is why we invest time before the session understanding exactly what you need and what you hope to leave behind. If something falls short of your expectations, we will work with you to make it right. Your story deserves nothing less.
Is there a confidentiality agreement?
Yes. Before every session we sign a mutual confidentiality agreement. What is shared in the room stays in the room. This is especially important for sessions involving sensitive family histories, personal revelations, or reconciliation. You have our word, and our signature, that your story is safe with us.
What if I am not sure which service is right for me?
That is exactly what our first conversation is for. You do not need to have it figured out before you reach out. Tell us a little about your story and your family, and we will guide you to the format that fits.
How do I get started?
Reach out. That is the only step. Everything else we figure out together.
